The phone calls I get from enthused needle felters make me smile every day. I recall how excited I was when I first started needle felting and it is so nice to hear it in the voices of others. And in the emails I get - they are just so great and I know that I will never tire of hearing from my happy students and customers and from fans of my dolls.
Speaking of students! The Needle Felters Workshop (my online teaching site) turned two in July and already we have nearly 600 members from around the world. With so many students learning from my video tutorials and making so many unique and amazing projects, it makes my head spin to think that somehow, I am responsible. Sharing my love of this craft through video is just so much fun and I am humbled that so many have chosen to learn from me. My students' work makes me beam with pride and I wish I could share all of them with the world. But my students are doing a fine job of sharing their art and doing what I call "Spreading the Love" That's what happens - it happened to me, it happens to my students and to many people that get introduced to needle felting - they fall in love with it. Many say they are addicted, hooked and even obsessed.

|Super-Duper Felting Needles - single, double and quad points!|
I mentioned I have been very busy with my online supplies shop. I'm pretty sure that might be an understatement. My hubby (aka Mr. Spock to my students) is a tremendous help; between the two of us (and Spike the dog) we handle it all ourselves. From web design and maintenance to producing our Super-Duper Felting Needles and Felt Alive Video Workshops, dying our wool batting, prefelt and curly locks and filling and shipping all the orders - we do it all. And that's just before noon on most days. :) My goal is to make more time for needle felting (and blogging!)
But I have managed to squeeze in enough time for a few dolls. I needle felted "Gangnam Style" with a funny li'l PSY doll. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, PSY is a Korean pop singer that made his mark when the YouTube video of his hit song "Gangnam Style" was the first ever to reach 1 billion views. He was an overnight sensation! The video and PSY himself are quite comical and PSY needed to come to life in wool. I made him for me and he is part of my personal collection. Most recently I did a commission of a lovely couple as a gift from their real estate agent. I am still awaiting photos of their first meeting of their minis. But here they are getting lessons from PSY for his famous horsey dance.

|Alfred Hitchcock...in the moon|
I had a great time letting the wool come to life when I created Alfred Hitchcock in the moon. Something a bit different...
I was playing with a new color of Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool - Honeydew - when this rather unusual caricature came to life of Alfred Hitchcock. It wasn't planned - it just happened.
We have also produced a couple of new video workshops since my last post.

And most recently we released Felt Alive Needle Felted Bunnies - it's a hopping good time! Both workshops are available on DVD with optional kits in my shop and online to members of The Needle Felters Workshop.

We now have over 40 colors of Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool in the shop - we dye most of it here. Our dyed prefelt sheets are very popular. I love using prefelt for needle felted clothes for my dolls. Using it is a real time-saver and the finished look is very, very cool.

And to wrap up my long (and long overdue) blog post - we are sure enjoying life in Southern Oregon. This Alaskan girl was ready for a warmer climate and we picked a great place to live.
Happy Felting Everyone!
